“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now..”
– Philippians 1:3-5
Dear Servants,
We have over 100 adults joining in the celebration banquet this Saturday night as we give thanks for all the Lord has done for Servants of Christ over these first ten years. The purpose of our banquet and joint service on Sunday
is to give thanks to the Lord. It is so important that we pause and give thanks. What better time of the year to look back with Thanksgiving just a few days from now.
It will be a special joy also to welcome home several families that God has brought through Servants over the years, who now live in other cities or even other states. They remind us all that God is doing much more in this parish than we see at any moment. We sometimes forget all that God has done, but this weekend is about looking back and remembering. I know you will be blessed to see familiar faces back in Gainesville. Special thanks to Beth Kirby for the great old photos on Facebook!
Lastly, it is a time to celebrate the partnership with our dear Bishop James Ochiel. I am so glad that many of you are getting to spend time with Bishop James in community groups or other occasions. There will be an opportunity to give to a special offering for the Bishop at our
10 am joint service next Sunday
.
May God fill each of you with the joy Paul talks about in our verses from Philippians as you remember, celebrate, share, and give thanks, this week.
Onward and Upward,
