“The wolf shall dwell with the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together;
and a little child shall lead them.”
– Isaiah 11:6
Dear Servants,
Isaiah foreshadows the incarnation of our Lord Jesus with this famous passage. I was struck by this verse as I watched our little ones dramatize the Lord’s birth last Sunday night. It seems so appropriate for little children to lead us in worship for the Nativity of our Lord because it reminds us of how fragile and vulnerable God was willing to become in order to identify and come close to all of humanity. It is also a reminder of Jesus’ words that we must come to him as, “little children”. I continue to pray for each of you as we walk as a congregation through the last week of Advent.
Peace,
